I actually met KJ when he was still Bruce Jenner back in 1992 .
I was working in New Orleans , La and they were hosting the US Olympic track trials that summer.
They had a meet/greet of all the living gold medal decathlon winners .

Not a lot of fans showed up, so I got to actually talk and get a pic with a few of them.
Jenner was already starting to look and sound odd, compared to the masculine track GOD of 1976 ( started female hormones ?)
He seemed rather aloof and disinterested in talking to fans, so I didn't talk to him directly.

Bill Toomey and Raffer Johnson were  cool and joked around with fans and the media.

The coolest interaction I had was with 1948 and '52 champ Bob Mathias.
He's BIG in person , even as an older guy and he lit up when I told him I was a fellow jarhead .
Hugged my neck and said ; " ooh rah devil dog"

After I took a pic with Bob , he walked over to the others , points back at me and loudly says;
" My fellow jarhead wanted a pic with the guy who won it twice" and laughs.
