Gyno is starting to come in but not there yet.  Could use more acne on the chest.  Hairline looks really good so I have to knock some points off for that.  I’d say at this point he should double all his dosages.  He’s also not going anywhere without a blown out waist.  He’s got work to do but I see potential.

5'10" and 233-lb is huge.  Also, can anyone really criticize a physique like that for a 21-year-old?  I think he looks great.  In fact, it's sort of sad for me to think that if he continues to pursue bodybuilding, he will continue to pack the mass on, and potentially compromise his health.  But he must be aiming to get his IFBB pro card in the men's open bodybuilding division because he is too big for Classic Physique, which sets a maximum of 196-lb at 5'10" [178cm]:

Quote
Quote
Up to & incl. 180 cm
Max Weight [kg] = (Height [cm] -100) + 11 [kg]

So if he's competing in open, what's he going to have to be to be at the Olympia level?  Other bodybuilders who were around the 5'10" mark [over/under] such as Mike Matarazzo, Kevin Levrone, Dorian Yates, and Ronnie Coleman were all between 235-lb to 300+ [the latter being what Ronnie weighed at the 2004 English Grand Prix...303-lb, I think - henda might know.  ;D].

So basically, even for him to make a dent, he would probably need to come in at 240-lb if he was in fantastic shape, and if he could maintain his aesthetics at that weight.

I don't know if it's just an age thing, but after so many deaths of bodybuilders between 2004 and now, I just worry about competitors.

I guess you could say...I fear for their health.  :-\

I would always like to hear what Fortress thinks about this young bodybuilder.

Just imagine for a moment if this mountain of muscle and mind turned his powerful brain on things less important, say...Curing cancer, teh Covid or...Dare I say it?  Racism?

But his is a  higher calling.  One that mere genetically mundane mortals cannot begin to fathom.  A Temple should be (appropriately so) erected in his honor that all might worship him.

Him dropping out of college to pursue bodybuilding was a mistake. He could have gotten an education while eating at the all you can eat dining hall and training in the included gym with all the college girls. Bodybuilding and college are not mutually exclusive Idiot

Making a living from bodybuilding is a risk for sure.  I'd probably say he'd do better if he sold steroids and did personal training on the side, while pursuing bodybuilding.  I'm not sure if bodybuilders can get $50 USD per hour or more for personal training, and schedule 40 hour weeks at that rate - that would be $2,000 a week, which is $104,000 per year.  Add that to a supplement sponsorship if he can get one, and whatever gear he can sell on the side, and he could push that figure up.

If he does that without abusing his body as much as someone like Dallas McCarver did, for example, then bodybuilding might work out for him.

I'm just trying to think of what way this young bodybuilder could play it to make it worth exclusively pursuing bodybuilding.  Even Georges St-Pierre said on a recent podcast that he tells the parents of children who aspire to be UFC fighters that it's not worth doing [presumably because it's so "Feast or Famine" in the UFC, much like in bodybuilding].

The Top 10 bodybuilders in the world can all make six figures, with the top 2-3, maybe top 2-4, making $500,000 to $1,000,000+ per year.  For example, Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, and probably Gunter Schlierkamp were likely all making $750,000 or more per year.

But bodybuilding is a big risk, and I agree with you about it not being wise to drop out of college to pursue it.  But if he juices intelligently without overdoing it horribly, gets on board with a decent sponsor, and makes money on the side from person training, selling gear, and potentially nutrition coaching [if he has the intelligence to do it], he can do well.

I hate to recommend that anyone sell gear as an income stream, but now that I know the truth of how little money there is in bodybuilding and how many competitive bodybuilders do sell gear, I am not so naive about it.  It was Gregg Valentino who said that all bodybuilders sell gear, and while that is probably hyperbole, it wouldn't shock me if some huge number, like one third of bodybuilders or something, actually do sell gear.

He is years away from a pro IFBB size if he ever gets there. No one is paying this goon to train them 40 hours a week at 50hr that is a dream. He is spending money bodybuilding and probably living at home. Go back to college.

Nice post

He can always go back to college if he sick of elite bodybuilding. I think Justin Harris was on his way to the gym one day and just decided to give it up and pursue a pHD. He is back in the bodybuilding game now though. The popular Gary Vaynerchuk often opines about how young people should pursue their dreams and if it doesn't work out so be it. Still have time to adjust later in life. Although he could potentially have decided to complete college on a part time basis.
