Lee Labrada 61
« on: June 02, 2021, 07:29:27 AM »
I see a lot of people pointing out health problems some older bodybuilders have had around here. Not everyone is doing the same thing some people are training smart with proper supplementation. Lets not forget the great Lee Labrada truly the epitome of longevity looking jacked and shredded at 61

We have no idea the state of Lee Labrada's health.

How you look on the outside means nothing.

Agreed.  We also have no idea what Lee has been taking... or in what combination/intensity.  I hope the OP is not suggesting that the poor health outcomes we have seen over the years (in relatively young men) is simply a matter of genetics?  :-\

He has clearly been healthy enough to train so yes there is some correlation if you are sick and bedridden you are not making leg day

I don't use any drugs. I am on HRT and a legal Hemp derived supplement only. I am pointing out that there is a healthy way to train and we should be inspired by Lee.

Nope.

He could have (and likely does) an enlarged left ventricle, severe arteriosclerosis, liver dysfunction, hypertension, etc.  It's likely he's on meds.

He's also pumping himself full of harmful anabolics and other PEDs.

You think that's a sign of good health?

You are kidding yourself.

There is a price to be paid for PED use.  If you are willing to accept the consequences ok but don't kid yourself it is a free ride.

Obviously known carcinogens should be avoided but some people also have genetic predispositions to disease that can be triggered it is important to take care of an monitor your health. I think Lee knows what he is doing and he is eating 5 meals a day a ton of food.

What does over-eating have to do with good health?

You got some strange ideas.  There's no need to fool yourself.

Do you think we are idiots here?

Greetings, fellow Bond enthusiast!

Some of the doctors I see have told me that cancer is cell growth out of control.  AAS promotes cell growth so that if you have a congenital disposition for cancer the addition of AAS (especially in the amounts today's idiot bodybuilders take) may well trigger cancerous growths.

Of course today's bodybuilders are too stupid to understand let alone care.  Even I understand the inherent dangers of out of control stoopidity.

By the way, I don't know if you're a fan of old films but I am and I am currently watching "Pygmalion".  It has been some time since I viewed this excellent film and I am watching the Criterion Collection version.  I also have in my collection the superb musical, "My Fair Lady".  I mention these because I have often thought that you, my friend, may well be bodybuilding's "Professor Higgins".  If...that is...You had a mind to.

Be well, my friend.

Labrada is a true iron warrior who will train for life.  I thought Shawn Ray would be as well, but........

Exactly the disrespect to the living legend is astounding. He is not overeating he is eating for energy and has it because he eats 5 times a day to fuel his training.

Still awaiting No Time to Die here... by now you have head that Amazon has agreed to buy MGM.  This will likely put the entire roster of Bond films onto the Amazon Prime streaming service!  I will check out your recommendations.

Yes, and in 4K too, I hope!  I am also hoping they didn't screw the pooch with "No Time To Die" (the theme is done by the Princess of Emo, Billie Eilish - UGH.  No Dame Bassey but then, who is?) by doing the whole divershitty thing to this excellent film series.  I have all the others on Blu Ray and 4k and many of them on Laser Disc.  I've been a fan since Goldfinger which was the first one I had the pleasure of viewing.

I hope you enjoy those films.  I have so many in my home collection.  Well over a thousand on a variety of formats including some films you can no longer can (or never ever could) get in the States!

The aesthetic component for a guy like Lee I do not understand.

He no longer competes.

He’s covered essentially all the time and he’s a small man so he’s not impressing anyone at WalMart.

Labrada has never strived for the strength angle, so that motivation doesn’t exist.

In most ways, he’s just like Ronnie, minus the 23 back surgeries and bag-of-veins look. A guy who compulsively works out yet doesn’t really have a reason.

To my mind, he should swim, play tennis ... and weight train once or twice each week. Or something.

Instead he works out several times and uses drugs.

Strange.

Even if he switched gears. Said something like, I wanna build a bigger and better squat. But he likely doesn’t even squat. And when he did, during his competing years, he did 275 thinking that was a “heavy” day (according to Greg Zulak).

It’s all just compulsive activity. Just to do it.

“Gotta have abs and etched deltoids!”

Weird.

Yup, how one looks means nothing. Look at Meadows for example, lookeed good (BB wise) always posting about perfect blood-work, almost drops dead from heart attack and clots.
People who rely on blood-work are fools.

Its a good overview, but thats about it.
Anyone 50+ who does not get all invasive type checks (when / if they can) is foolish.
Get a calcium score, etc. 100.00 out of pocket could tell you tons. And it could lead to many more invasive tests if numbers are a bit high.
Where you wouldnt be able to get those tests normally.

LaBrada could be a ticking timebomb for all we know. Outside looks means nothing when talking about "health inside".

"Damn he looks great, but his liver is a California libtard raisin".   ::)

Why should he strive for strength?  No one cares how strong he is.

We don't know what Lee is or isn't doing nor do we know the condition of his heart or liver and should not make such assumptions the man appears to be very healthy for 61 years old

How do you know he doesn't swim or play tennis? Being in shape is it's own reward. We can't pretend to know what he does or doesn't use at this point. His motivation may be as simple as he enjoys training. What is wrong with that? Perhaps abs and delts are just a side effect of that

He has been on steroids his entire life and is likely dependent on "medication" at this point. 61 isn't old and I very much doubt his health is in good shape or that he will live to even 80.

The illusion of mass is what we're after!  ;)  To the average Joe (or schmoe) that imparts with it an illusion of strength.  Of late for me to achieve this I have taken to wearing as many as 22 t-shirts.  Sure it's difficult to move but with extra underarm padding I have managed to add the ILS to my muscular magic show.  ;D
