I would say that besides death and going to jail, alcohol has taken it's pound of flesh from me.
Watching my mother die from alcoholism didn't help. It's been 2 months without alcohol.

Why does anyone do any drug/substance?

Its for the "high" of course. I miss being intoxicated. I do not miss the rest of the side affects when I'm not. It's great when you are up, it sucks when you are coming down.

I know it's selfish of me to think this way, but when I see all of these advertisements for alcohol, I still feel like I am missing out on a good time.

Social drinking is fine..........personally I have no off sswitch,so 20 years or so ago,I found that off switch and smashed it with a 16 pound sledge hammer..........I hate reformed drunks but that shit will kill you.....it doesn`t discriminate.

I used to be pretty good friends with Schizzo on Mayhem.......not really a bad guy at all.

One time I complained to the gym owner how I couldn`t quit drinking,he said Tim if it was below zero would you sleep with your bedroom windows open....I said no and he said close the fucking windows cuz it`s freezing out.

In other words,you can only get drunk if you pick up a drink,so just dont pick up that first one.
