With Rusty Jeffers and his porno glory days in the getbig news lately, it reminded me of another IFBB pro turned porn star. Whereas Rusty (aka Carl Hardwick) did solo vidoes marketed towards the gay community, Canada's very own Bruce Patterson did fullout gay hardcore.

It seems like only yesterday that MuscleMag was printing articles about a new up and coming sensation in the bodybulding world. From New Brunswick emerged what Robert Kenedy billed as the next Arnold. With tonnes of exposure and plenty of pro potential behind him, Bruce Patterson seemed dstined for great things.

Yet, before Bruce could burst onto the pro scene, he lost his way. Under the moniker "Chris Thunder", Patterson starred in two gay porn films. The most notable was titled Playing with Fire.

Naturally, these questionable projects effectively black balled him ever placing in an IFBB contest. Nevertheless he competed a couple times including at the 2003 NOC where he beat Gustavo Badell. Today he sells videos of himself crushing cans for an hour and being punched in the stomach by skinny guys. Check it out. It's funny but sad at the same time. Sounds like its time the PDI gave him a call . . .

the copyright on the porn film is 1996, so it's likely it was filmed in 1995, pretty much at the same time as his first pro contest. what was he thinking?

and yes, he was persona non grata and pretty much never even got called out after 1997

Big Bruce lives and trains here in Halifax Nova Scotia. That pic of him with DA says old DA is a very big boy, he looks good next to Bruce and I bumped into him at a gasstation about a year back . . . he is massive.

Serious question:has anybody here actually watched the 'porno' films he's been in. Just wondering if he actually does 'it' as I thought he was married with a child. If he does 'do it' with guys on film then I would have to say, that if he is actually married to a woman, he deserves an Oscar for such a credible acting performance.
I have no problem with him being gay or otherwise and seriously the guy has a fantastic bodyshape.
But if he ever thought he could actually compete professionally in the bb circuit while doing full on gay porn then he really needed a reality check. Just the way it is I guess.
As for his website- have not been there yet (probably wont either) but at least he isn't tossing (off) dwarves coz that is seriously strange.

P.S. Patterson looks awesome and I have no problem with him being gay or any supposed moral loopholes any of the homophobes on here can come up with.

Too bad, the dude's definatly Olympia material. I was at the 03' Ironman and he placed out of the top 10 and he should have easly been top 5. This was before I found out that he did those movies, it didn't make any difference to me, but it obviously did to the judges!

Rusty Jeffers got screwed by the judges.

Bruce Patterson was no Rusty Jeffers. He wasn't a good bodybuilder, and he always came in smooth. He would've had to have been much better to get screwed by the judges, like Rusty.
