Not their family, friends or loved ones? What about the gay community at large? You don't think it sends a powerful message to them that yes, they matter? It was the largest mass shooting in US history and it targeted our homosexual brothers and sisters. My original question is how does it negatively impact the OP's life?
I don't have a problem it.
That said, I don't trust their motives. Democrats have been pandering for the past ten years or so to try and shore up voting blocs. All they care about is winning elections.
Don't forget that Obama, Hillary, Biden, etc. all supported traditional marriage up until very recently. You know why they did an about face? Because a large percentage of Obama's large donors were gay and they told him to get serious about gay rights or they would start withholding money. And just like that, Obama and the rest supported gay marriage.
And remember when Obama, Clinton, Pelosi, Schumer, etc. all supported strong borders and opposed illegal immigration? What changed? They started losing their stranglehold on the black vote and are trying to replace it with an Hispanic bloc vote. Go back and look at clips of how those people talked about illegal immigration 10-15 years ago. They sounded like Trump.
So, color me a cynic whenever they do stuff like this.
