My understanding is that the old President that was popular with the looters was finally sentenced to prison for corruption. Word got back to his supporters, it festered for a little while, then turned into this riot. It then became a "fuck White people and Indians" type of thing, as they control many of the thriving businesses in the area.

Much like in the US, they fucked everything up, and can't find food or anything else now.

This whole thing would have been a lot more serious, had the neighborhoods not been armed and organised to repel these fuckers. My mates on the coast (its OK in JHB) have been dealing with literal war. The fucking looters burnt their own towns, and then came into the main towns trying to burn that shit down as well (they did pretty well in some places). Most of the port warehouses and infrastructure were targeted, so supply chains are fucked and there are currently food and fuel shortages in some parts of the country. This was an attempted revolution, against their so called revolution, aimed at killing non black people. End of.
