Kovacs look FANTASTIC when he won the 1996 Canadian Nationals to turn pro.



But, it was downhill after that, because of all the MuscleTech hype, promising that he'd come in ripped at some ungodly bodyweight.



He was supposed to be 325 ripped at the 1997 Night of Champions (his pro debut). He ended up being 318 and smooth as a baby's behind.

Had he stayed in the low 300s, he would have had decent results.

Kicking wasn't that bad. It just that they (MuscleMag and IronMan) kept comparing him to Arnold Schwarzenegger, since he was also from Austria. In fact, he got to play the role of the Oak in that unauthorized biopic about Arnold on A&E (I think that was the network).

That's also the one, incidentally, where Lou Ferrigno actually lost the audition to play himself to Bob Chicherillo. That movie was utterly stupid because it portrayed Arnold as taller than Lou when everyone knows it was the opposite (although Kickinger looked ultra scrawny, compared to Chick).

He looked really different at the 2004 Arnold Classic.

Most getbig greats have had appreciation for Greg Kovacs, there is a mythology surrounding his massive size. Suckmymuscle had the best Kovacs analysis in my opinion.

Anyway he looks amazing in the video you posted, not sure what happened to his physique, not usually what we see from age alone.

He gained too much muscle using MuscleTech.  Gaining 1,987,956,432X more muscle made it impossible for the heart to pump the blood through all that muscle.
