Well I have a digestive disease for one so I guess you could start there. I also just started trying to add weight again in April this year after not trying the last 20 years. I stopped bulking in my late 20s when they said precancerous barretts esophagus with a digestive track full of pollyps I also had gerds and acid and bile reflux which was making me throw up if I tried to eat too much. Doctors now tell me I have crohns as well. So yeah all that makes being 250lbs not so easy I literally have a fucking wasting disease and I am amnemic. I am sick everyday. I use the bathroom nonstop all day I don't digest nutrients. I was 210lbs in April. I have added at least 10lbs of solid muscle since then despite being injured. I am sick most of the damn day everyday. I have had a couple sausage links and one slice of pizza and a muffin but have been to the bathroom at least 15 times today. I feel sick until early evening most days. I have to get up 3-4 times a night to use the restroom. I use it another half dozen times before lunch and probably 3 times before my first cup of coffee. So yeah it's not super easy for me to gain weight. My stomach is empty but bloated with gas makes it hard to eat and when I do I don't digest half of the nutrients. I am also very active with a fast metabolism. Did I mention the blood I get bleeding ulcers and will pass blood for weeks at a time fun stuff. I can eat nothing and still need to use the restroom nonstop I have painful gas and diarea and twisted guts almost everyday. The acid makes me sick and hungry and full all at the same time. I can't tell if I need food or if I need to take a crap half the time all I know is my stomach and insides hurt

But fuck that noise I will be a solid 240 next summer

The hell some people go through. Props for battling on.

These people act like I have issues because of bodybuilding. I body build despite my issues because it is what I like to do. We are all dying anyway going to live my life. Tired of everyone telling me what I can't do. Challenges are not limits. You are injured you are old you have a bad tummy and precancerous cells fuck that shit. Life isn't supposed to be easy. I can't control all the shit that comes my way in life but I can make the choice to hit the iron regardless. I may be uncomfortable but I can make the choice to eat regardless. When I was a child I thought there were limits stop signs detours changes in plans unforseen bumps in the road. Now I know there are only challenges. Why does getting stronger bigger fitter matter because I decided it matters.

You aren't supposed to gorge on peach cobblers and fried chicken if you have Crohns and bleeding ulcers.  It isn't helping you to get more nutrients by stuffing yourself like that.  You aren't absorbing it you're just crapping 20 - 30 times a day.  Go see a GI and tell him the truth about what you're doing.

You`re the only one here who has ever faced adversity.....my life would have killed you son.

Plus you are the only dedicated trainer on here who trains with hundreds of reps with pink dumbells so as not to re-injure the joints you fucked up over the years and the 5 or 6 muscle tears that you caused................pl us you eat like crap just to weigh more.

READY ?

YOU KNOW JACKSHIT ABOUT BODYBUILDING

The Olympia wasn’t the only contest those years and he won because of politics and being the first to discover thyroid hormones not becasue he added the most muscle to his frame

But yeah personally I want to look like Pete not Frank and Pete was also competing those years though not in the Olympia I think his build destroys Zane who just looks like a conditioned athlete. I ha w been a conditioned athlete.  Pete was a Freak I have never been a freak

Bodybuilding secret is to stay injuries free and healthy, know when your body
is suffering badly, adapt your training and dieting to your morphology, anatomy and own chemestry. You have a poor genetic, bad proportion, a body not able to handle too much food and drugs and training strategy is something abstract to you.
But you are a true warrior and life winner so keep the good job and post your fantastic progress.

So unless you are Ronnie Coleman why even bother???? I don't know my body because I have injuries and digestive issues or I am 43 years old with injuries and digestive issues training and making progress because I know my body? Just stupid defeatist all of you

2     Ray Mentzer
3     Dave Dupree
4     Steve Davis (1)

I'll take that bet.   1988  pic , weighing 194 lbs  and 5 ft 9.5 in

Great pic. Hard to believe you were ever in that kind of shape. And you weren't that juiced or juiced at all. Way above average genetics and I think you could have gone far. We're about the same age and if I was in that kind of shape back then I would have taken bbing much more seriously and give a shot at competing. But, I think you've posted that pic enough already. We got it.

Terrible physique.........way too small.......BHank outweighs him so that means he could win all the titles Zane won plus many more.

You couldn`t even carry his gym bag Brian.

Zane had one of the most perfect physiques ever.

He sure did. Truly an amazing physique.

Small by today's standards

Honestly, to hell with today’s “standards”. Comically large and largely misshapen. I’m fully convinced that a human-shaped bag filled with 450 lbs of shit in the off-season will sweep the competition if it times the drying process and comes in at a svelte 360 lbs.

He never won,he placed 4th. in his class.

I`ve seen his pics in old mag..........good build, and balding shorter competitor.

I bet I owned every magazine ever put out and read them cover to cover several times over.............I had a veritable ton of old muscle books as we called them.
