I like how Bhank looks at the 2018 contest pic and declares himself the winner.  :d

No one was in that 2019 contest most likely from restrictions due to Covid.....I`ve been in a zillion contests with 300-400 or more competitors all told.............that might happen here since regulation for Covid has relazxed.

I said the 2018 contest looked a lot harder and yes you are correct it looks like no one showed up in 2019. I even said I would be lucky to get 3rd in the novice in 2018 much less win the master or the light heavy. But Mike is right I am signed up now so should just worry about me and have fun

That music sucks man! (No offense) you want the audience to get “ behind you!” Cheer for you! Just pick any “AC/DC song and roll with that!

I told you that earlier....I said eat light and practice your routine like a big dawg.

Worrying about who might show up or who might beat you or how you`ll place are all uncontrolables.

Put in effort and do your best.

How many meals have you eaten today and what did you eat?

How many years have you been competing?

I always posed to "Running With The Devil" or" Black Magic Woman"....in 2001 I posed to the theme from "2001: A Space Odyssey".

The audience always liked my music...Bhanks music is depressing as a mofo.

Ok I think I found my song. You guys think this one works? They will just take the first minute I only need to pose on my own on stage for a minute? Just go through the 7 poses slow yes?

There's part of me that wants to goof on it, but it's your show. If you like it, and think you could do a good job to it use it.

Here are the pros to it -

1) It opens quickly into lyrics. You don't want some slow opener that takes all of your 60 sec to get to the hook.
2) Lots of people are still  :-\ over this whole Covid fiasco, I'm not sure going really upbeat is the way to go right now.
3) BHank does not strike me as a guy that would do well trying to pose against the the latest club banger.

I was thinking something 80's for you, but this could work.
--------------------------

Is your girlfriend there with you? Watch some posing videos, try the poses out. then try them to the minute of video, then if possible, have your girlfriend film it, and watch it back. See what it says to you.

If there is a novice class I highly recommend doing it (I chose not to my first show did open and masters over 35 because I thought I was “ too good” to do the novice class )  I have since realized what a jackass I really was…

BB, you can have your music start before you hit the stage then just walk out to where you want to start the routine.....of course you can`t wait too long cuz you only get 60 seconds.

They fucked up my music once in Rochester....it stopped completely....Bob Chick was the MC and said hey don`t quit now you`ve been around so I fished the routine without music.

They never used music at all back in the day anyway...plus I had no fucking choice,so I jut finihed my routine.  LOL  ;D

Mike, that was not my point at all.

You walked the walk - I was just curious how many times you went through competition prep.

It is all good.

1.At npc shows, the places and class winners are determined at the prejudging.

2. You only judge what you see on stage in front of you.
If a guy can't pose or assumes awkward positions, it hurts his look and he might get placed lower.
The judges are looking back/forth at everyone,  just stand rock solid still and hold the damn pose.

3. Whatever he weighs in at will determine his class in the open.

Thanks....I thought the prejudging meant the most.

My show wasn't an NPC  show, but run by a natural bodybuilding organization which I believe no longer exists.  A polygraph test was administered to determine natural status lol.  I think more than a few were stretching the truth on that, but it was all good.  I believe everyone passed and was allowed to participate.

Hope Bhank does well.  Putting it all together in five days is probably not done very often for bodybuilding events....lol.

I have a similar contest record . Only difference is, I was dumb enough to compete a lot more times LOL.
Hey now at least we've both had some hit or miss* success with "the ladies". :D
 * in my case it was a lot more miss... :'(

Ok, to be honest, I haven't been to a real BB show in a longtime (15-20 years), and don't recall the way the music works. For most Powerlifting contests, it's just "Play something loud!" :).

My experience with drug testing via polygraph at natural shows = " a JOKE"
At the NPC La Ironman Natural ( 1994), they only tested the top guys AFTER the prejudging.
I was selected for "testing" the moment we walked off stage for the prejudging.

Everyone was told to have a $25 check, ready to go, to give to "examiner".
I got that out of my gym bag and walked into this back stage coat room for my "drug test".

The guy asked my name, age, etc for a couple min until I was a constant steady " flat line" on the polygraph.
These  were simple questions and you had to answer YES or NO.
Then he asked me the drug testing questions:

1. Did you take steroids to prepare for this contest ? No
2. Have you taken steroids within the last year? No
3. Have you taken any other banned anabolic drugs during the past year ? No
4. Have you been honest and truthful during this examination? Yes

I was told the test was complete . He helped me take off the wires and gauges .
As I started to walk out he told me I passed.

Only 4 people  were tested  ( 1 girl and 3 guys) and we all passed .
I wasn't on anything and  I doubt anyone else. BUT the test was a f'n joke .

FYI doing legit urine testing is a lot more expensive and takes a lot longer to get the results back.
Unless you did it a few days BEFORE the show, you'd have to disqualify people days AFTER the contest.

Every contestant now gets 60 sec to do their routine t the music of they choose.
I've posed to everything from : the Theme from Aladdin , to Closer by 9 inch nails , etc

You can pose slow and be artsy-fartsy, if you're RIPPED and move with dramatic flare on stage.
Rockin' the house and doing lots of muscular shots can generate hype, but it gets old fast, when most start doing it.

In my humble OPINION, most people respect seeing a super ripped and bronzed guy on stage more then big but not that tight.
Being original and posing with charisma and confidence is the best way to get a good crowd response.

Looky here, we know the Mike vs Laura break up went public here on getbig awhile back.

Big Mike doesn't need me or anyone else to speak for him. BUT having been divorced a couple times, I want to chime in.
After the fireworks cease and the divorce /break up is long over, your perspective on it changes.
In simple terms, you both move on and eventually start a new life with someone else.

I don't know about Mike, but I wouldn't screw either one of my ex-wives now and I doubt they'd want me .
I'd be reluctant to discuss specific sexual details either. Life goes on and you want to leave the past ...in the past...trust me on that. ;)

lol.....Yup, that sounds about right.  I think you had to be five years clean in order to qualify as natural at the time.  I'm pretty sure everyone was tested, as I was not one of the top finishers.

More tests = More money   lol  Nonetheless, it was a good experience and a fun time.
