Damn!  I remember having videos with him and Leo Costa working out.  I think it was the Titan Training System.  RIP

"There is not a lot of information online about Phil which seems that it is almost deliberate but what we do know is that he was born on March 31, 1966 somewhere off the east coast of the USA."

55 years old, apparently.

Sad. He suffered ill health for quite a few years including kidney failure and palsy of the 3rd cranial nerve. May he rest in peace now.

Pretty sad the way we're losing so many icons from when bodybuilding was still great.

I learned a lot from Phil's online posts.

He definitely had great physique genetics as he was still in good shape despite the back to back major illnesses he was getting the past few years.

Dropping like flies.

Must be the genetic defects from childbirth.

His health has been declining over the past couple of years.  The last time I spoke with him before the summer he seemed to be in good spirits and actually laughed a lot.  Such a loss.

Genetic abnormalities all.

"Though initial information at this time is slim, Phil Hernon had previously posted in 2020 on Instagram posts (now deleted) that he had to be on dialysis – indicating some sort of health issue. There has been little activity on his social media channels. His latest posts falling near early 2020.

Phil Hernon’s passing comes after a string of tragic and too soon deaths. It was earlier reported that NPC bodybuilder Sofia Graham passed away in her sleep. She was 27 years old. Additionally, two bodybuilding competitors passed away at the Europa Pro this past weekend. Alena Kosinova, who was rushed to the hospital mere hours before she was set to walk on stage. Italian athlete Orlando Gallucci was also found dead just days after competing in the Europa Pro."

I had been following Phil heavily for years on FB and IG. He was going through a lot. Kidney failure for a long time and on dialysis for a few years now. Prior to that...he beat prostate cancer. He continued to train and looked great all through this. He kept a pretty positive outlook considering. Most guys would have broke under the circumstances. He was posting for quite a while about wanting a kidney transplant. One of his last FB posts...if I recall...was about him moving back up to NY state for the transplant. He had been in Jacksonville, Florida for the past many years. But his FB said Tampa recently. Its possible that he got the transplant and his body rejected it. Hopefully it wasnt suicide due to his many health issues building up over time. Either way...he was a guy who marched to his own drum. Had interesting takes on bodybuilding. RIP man.
