Our season started on Friday. There hasn’t been anything said about mandatory anything. I’ve already told my coaches I’ll quit first before I’m mandated anything
I'm not trying to be a smart ass about this, but unless something changes, the mandate went into effect on August 12, 2021 and schools must be in full compliance by October 15, 2021. Coach, it is good to be informed no matter how this turns out for you and your co-workers. I noticed that the school mandate applies to k-12 schools and not higher education.

Apparently, like in Oregon, there has been some serious and sometimes violent pushback from parents regarding this. Newsom allows that schools can decide how they want to enforce the mask mandate, (which is a weak move on his part).
Good luck with however this plays out. I hope you don't end up having to quit your job over it. My daughter was exposed to COVID last year and had to get tested a couple of times. She said it hurts. I've heard from several people that it is at best uncomfortable. But I guess if someone had to do it weekly, they'd get used to it.
