Just because a dream may not be attainable is no reason to quit chasing it I may not gain 20lbs but I could certainly lose it if I didn't keep eating and training. I enjoy being able to train at my age after so many setbacks called life. I can take up cardio when I really get broken down and old but I ain't dead yet I plan to lift and eat a bit little longer. I think a heavier weight is healthier and safer for lifting. We are all constantly wasting away and dying a little everyday have to keep up the good fight even if defeat is inevitable.

Perhaps if it is achievable: attainable and not impossible to achieve. Otherwise, you are just setting yourself up for failure.

Good stuff Wes.

If you really want to feel an exercise in your back, I'd suggest the chest supported row.

I do them by taking my weight bench and putting up on some platforms.  Then, lay forward on bench and pull two DB or Kettlebells from the floor.  If you concentrate on middle back, squeeze, and pull elbows to the ceiling, I can feel it more in my back than any exercise.

May vary for others, but can't hurt to give it a shot.

Hey G.A. heres` a tip you may already be aware of,act like you have pads similar to a pec-decks pads on the back of your elbows,,srart the pull with your upper back,then push the "imaginary" pads back with your elbows......works on Bent-Over Laterals also.

BB rows to be honest I'm not real sure what muscles they are working most of the time.  Maybe I do them wrong.

Pendaly version helps - flat back, not arched, squeeze to chest, then full reset at the bottom.

If say I set up a goal - "I'm going to dunk a basketball!"   Guess what - I'm not spudd webb.  That shit aint gonna happen.  Why bother wasting all this time an energy on something NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN vs attainable goals that are realistic and you can work towards?

Imagine if we fought battles we knew were truly impossible to win. Aiming for the stars is fine, flapping your arms in an unachievable attempt to fly to the stars is useless.

I believe what I bolded is a mixed metaphor.  ;)

I did 8 sets of squats today. I absolutely hate sleeves and love wraps. I like the pinch  from wraps and the tightness, makes me feel way more ready to move some heavy weight. Sleeves are the gay.

Did 7 sets of bench kind of seeing where Im at , easily my weakest exercise
then some pushdowns then some calves

now Im eating an entire roast chicken

I always have small range achievable goals but also have a bigger picture in mind.

When I reach or surpas one goal,I raise the bar a bit ..................wash,rinse,and repeat.

I understood what you were saying but then I am old too!  LOL! 

My older brother has been a total vegan for decades but recently was told to include animal based protein for his own good.   I think he eats fish sometimes.  I hate fish but will eat it if that's all there is, LOL!   He never pushed his eating on anyone and just did it as a preference.  He and his wife also grow a great deal of their food in their garden.  They can or dry fruits and vegetables and his wife makes sauces for spaghetti from some of it too.
