Do you have to have a JD to take the bar exam or can anyone sign up and take it?
He looks S out of luck:
"North Carolina does not offer exemptions from its standard legal education and bar admission requirements, meaning prospective lawyers must earn a four-year undergraduate degree and a three-year law degree from an accredited institution, and then pass the North Carolina Bar Exam. While four states (California, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington) allow an alternative "reading the law" path without a law degree, this is not an option in North Carolina."
Maybe Virginia is an option for him.
