3 sets single arm cable side raises

I couldn't make it out of the house today. I did manage to walk mid-day around the pond. Then I saw this bullshit, but I had company and the gym was closing and we needed dinner. But UKJ is coming, and I knew I had to do something. I had been working on the legs resting the upper body slowly now waking back up. HIt the home dungeon. Tea and Crumpets ain't kicking no sand over here. He take his Fish and Chips back to Yonkers.

I would not recommend you trying like you described.  More of an explosive high pull, followed by a dip (1/4 squat) as you pull yourself under the dumbell you then extend the arm toward the ceiling.  This actually can help BUILD stability in the joint.  Try doing some walks with an inverted kettlebell (bell side up).  That FORCES you to stabilize the weight both from the shoulder as well as midline.
Dude couldn't get 100# DB over his head with both hands. I'm dying to see SC put up a video of those DB snatches. 10 reps of 100# is absolutely insane. I get weird stares walking around with a 100# DB over head. ;D

If you say so but that is my nighttime belly not my morning abs

If someone were to do 3 sets of 10 3 different exercises that would be 90 reps. If someone does 5 sets of 15-20 one exercise its 85-100 reps. What is more important the number of exercises or the number of reps? I believe you can have a great workout even if it is only 1 exercise. The key is to change the exercise next time training that muscle group. But if you do rows one back workout and pullups the next and deadlifts the following do you really think you are going to make significantly different progress do 30 reps of each each time vs 100 reps of one each time? Obviously somedays I workout at the gym and do more exercises but can you not train with more intensity focusing on one per workout? I like variety but yes sometimes I keep it real simple pick one exercise and just hit it hard. If I had gone to the gym and not trained at home I would have done some pulldowns or if it was warmer I would have done pullups here as I have a pullup bar but it is outside. Still though 100 reps is not a bad workout regardless if you do 100 reps with 1 exercise or 5 I don't think you will get significantly different results.

It's weird to think of training and volume and reps you just count sets and exercises while ignoring total reps??? You want to talk time under tension that means total reps not total angles I can do 10 sets of 10 on 10 different exercises or 5 sets of 20 on 1 exercise am I really going to get that much difference in stimulation?

Its a straight up power and explosive movement.  Any hesitation and its just not going overhead.

I agree.  You can do just one exercise for a bodypart and really work it.

Have read that a muscle can only contract 100%, not 25% or 50% etc.  It either contracts 100% or not at all.

Nowhere near enough stimulation for a huge bodypart like back.....for biceps yes..... especially while enhanced.

Yes you will due to TUT....total sets, not total reps makes much more sense the reps are not counted in the total scheme of things as they are part of a set and hopefully you aren`t doing just one rep per set.....it`s the conventual way but whatever works for you....do it.

It would have to be an exercise that really works the back like barbell rows.  Heavy barbell rows 10-15 sets of 6-12.

Doing lat pulldowns wouldn't cut it.

Rows are far superior to any chin or pulldown for thickness & mass. It´s the meat & bones of any back workout...not deadlifts

Being that you suck at math....in one scenario you are doing 1,000 reps and the other you are just doing 100.

It can take up to that if using extreme HIT Mentzer style training. Hell Mike trained legs in some cases every 2 weeks.
