I warmed up good and stopped each heavier set as soon as I felt my form was less than perfect. As such my lower back did not have any issues. You guys can talk all the shit you want a couple months ago I struggled to get a double with 275lbs and had not tried it since. I am getting stronger. I also did not stall slowly going lower but dropped straight down confidently with speed. I felt good about this workout. I will do leg extension and curls and calves at home later in the week. I plan to use 275 for my working sets going forward.
Your whole body should always be tight and you should ALWAYS descend slowly into the bottom position of the squat and explode when coming out of the hole......dropping straight down with speed as you put it is a great way to fuck up your knees and build no strength or form in the eccentric portion of the rep.
You can always lower more weight than you can raise so dropping down fast and counting on momentum to bounce upwards is a "technique" for someone who knows jackshit about bodybuilding such as yourself.
