I warmed up good and stopped each heavier set as soon as I felt my form was less than perfect. As such my lower back did not have any issues. You guys can talk all the shit you want a couple months ago I struggled to get a double with 275lbs and had not tried it since. I am getting stronger. I also did not stall slowly going lower but dropped straight down confidently with speed. I felt good about this workout. I will do leg extension and curls and calves at home later in the week. I plan to use 275 for my working sets going forward.
Far cry from the 405 you claimed you could do 8 months ago.

Not really I said I could get 405 for one and I can but again feeling good doing reps getting stronger no need to max out and risk an injury. I did 355 for a single when I did 275 for a double. My 275 for 5 was way deeper and with way better form than the last time I did a double so yeah I am there but again no need knee feels good back feels good getting stronger form is perfect why risk it.

Your whole body should always be tight and you should ALWAYS descend slowly into the bottom position of the squat and explode when coming out of the hole......dropping straight down with speed as you put it is a great way to fuck up your knees and build no strength or form in the eccentric portion of the rep.

You can always lower more weight than you can raise so dropping down fast and counting on momentum to bounce upwards is a "technique" for someone who knows jackshit about bodybuilding such as yourself.

How long have you been training Mr. Hatfield  ???

Dropping straight down prevents the good morning effect. I did not use my back. I did not lean forward. I got my ass low and used my legs. I could have done more but the second I felt any kind of forward lean or knee instability I stopped. Again just tried out the 275 for the first time in months. I thought I would get 3 reps. I got 5 rather easily. I was more concerned with form than reps and my form was good. I was happily surprised. To be fair it was the first time I trained legs in 2 weeks which probably helped. I would have filmed but cell phone died. I had planned to go for 15 with 225 but phone died so I was like fuck it and just did 8 which felt good so I then tried 275. I will do 3 sets of 275 next week and maybe get another rep or two. Honestly the lack of a lower back pump or any kind of neck pain was the best part that is another way I know my form was good bar was low on back and I sat back into the squat. Don't worry you guys will get a video to trash soon as I want to dissect my form but it was good best squats I have done since college maybe ever I have done more weight but not with this kind of form

Currenlty a trim 215ish and again I have seen other people in the gym not many are deep squatting 275 for reps with proper form I felt pretty good about it considering where I am coming from with my knees

275 is plenty to build big legs. Nursing a lower back issue, I used the Smith-machine this week for squats w/ 3 plates a side.
Legs haven't been this sore (or pumped) in quite a while.
