Take it up with the powerlifting federations. I can strict curl the same weight with or without a belt. But the rules say you can wear a belt. I did an entire workout with a belt. During a workout of any kind you are not going to notice the belt to much adrenaline. However yes after a workout if you were not wearing a belt your back may hurt as you may tweak it doing a million different things. Why risk it? Also I have a lower back issue to start the last thing I want to do is tweak my lower back in training. But yes absolutely on meet day I can take the platform with or without a belt and it isn't going to make any difference. Again the belt the wall your shoes your fucking singlet none of that lifts the weight. Should I just lift naked do my balls really need the cupping support of my underwear? Is my underwear givign my balls support would a ball pop off if I didn't wear underwear? Fuck off with your nonsense you wouldn't be able to move that weight an inch with your 16 inch arms.
You just wrote that you dont use your low back during the lift, now your shoe analogy has been blown out of the water you are now saying you may hurt your back so why take the risk.
