In my humble opinion ..... This homeless situation will never improve and it will remain with us forever.

One possible ATTEMPT at a solution is to place a HUMONGOUS TAX on any home purchase of $3,000,000 or more and use those funds to gradually construct 'Homeless City' which would consist of hundreds/thousands of small, basic residences
to include employment industries that would enable these homeless citizens to earn an income in order to upgrade their living accommodations and/or a possible graduation into a 'normal' society.

The homeless who are pitching tents on the sidewalk in LA and other cities are a nuisance and are breaking the law by loitering and harassing people.  We should build more jails to lock them up or require them to go to homeless shelters.  Why should a tax paying home owner have to have vagrants shitting and sleeping in his yard?  What are his taxes used for anyway?

Exactly.  There is an OBVIOUS answer to the homeless bum population but society no longer has the backbone for it.

It's called Slavery.

Round up the trash, put them to work in the fields.  They have a purpose, housing, can even set it up where they make $$.  And they're no longer a public nuisance.  And the ones who can't work can still be legislators in blue states.

Does our present government have some sort of "New Deal: Civilian Conservation Corps" that worked pretty damn well under President Roosevelt back in the 1930's?

Asking for a friend and his family who are 'camped out' at present in our front yard.
We do let them use the bathroom facilities off to the side of the garage, but the neighbors claim that by doing so .... we are encouraging them NOT to pack up and get the hell out of Dodge!

Politicians don't really want to solve the problems because they fear they will be voted out in the next election by the people effected and the bleeding hearts.  It is much easier to talk about the problem and look like you care.  This is why we should have term limits.
