I watched as my youngest brother started with marijuana and continually moved to other drugs for his "high".  I've seen "Faces of Meth" sitting across from me at Thanksgiving more than enough times.  When he threatened our mother I had him arrested, placed in jail and ultimately put in a mental hospital to get cleaned up.  That's but one reason I laugh at lads like bhanky and his "...say that to my face and I'll kick your ass" shit. 

First off, I don't own a donkey.  And second?  I will have him put away if he does try that.

Looking at most addicts I think a new ad campaign should be started for drug addicts.  Call it "Feces of Meth" or Heroin or whatever their choice (and it is a choice) of drug. 

Steroids would feature dead bodybuilders with purple faces.  FTN.

He was never a heavy drinker.  I think he got drunk that night just to be able to take his own life.  He was by far the best looking boy in our family.  Pure white hair and blue eyes.  The one side of the family thought I looked "Caucasian" but he made me look gemischtes blut.  Oddly enough he was the darling of both sides of our family as he was the baby.   

He just got in with a bunch of stoners in middle school and another of my brothers told me  and I did my best to stop that association but I was much older, a lot bigger and stronger but could not be with him in or after school as I had to work.  His "friends" were scared of me but not if I wasn't around.

Meth destroyed his looks.   It broke my mother's heart and soul to lose her baby.  She still has a "shrine" to him.

How were you able to get your brother committed? I thought the courts decide who is or isn't committed. I think a person can voluntarily enter a a drug treatment program. Perhaps someone can also self commit to a mental institution.

My late aunt, who was schizophrenic, spent time in Camarillo, when she ran afoul of the law and the V.A. in West L.A. either didn't have room or refused to take her. Camarillo's been closed since 1997. When committed she was put on meds that stabilized her and then she'd be released, go off the meds and repeat. She lived into her 80's, part of the time living on the streets of Los Angeles.

Threatening our  mother wasn't the only dumb thing he did.  And sometimes what he did was against the law.  So...Off to jail and then it all went for the better and he got sent to a hospital, cleaned up and came out of there better instead of bitter.
