You are not missing anything. Coach is an idiot. Some idiots try and subjugate common gun handling safety "rules" into settings that fit their narrative. Like Coach. However, they rarely take into account legal statutes or caselaw. For example, movie sets typically hire professional armorers to handle the weapons because weapons can vary widely and knowing the difference between a live round, dummy round and blank round shouldn't be left up to John Smith, but to experts who handle different guns on a regular basis. Case in point, Baldwin DID hire an armorer for that very thing. The idea floated around by some that the actor is responsible for insuring the safety of the gun is simply nonsense... common sense would tell you that just doesn't fly. When an actor is handed a gun that is deemed safe by an expert, to expect random actor to inspect the gun to double check is simply people who are ignorant of how things actually work. Like Coach. The truth is, Coach and a few others hate Baldwin for his portrayal of Trump on SNL in a bad light. This is enough to skew their moral compass to cast false allegations. I know it's sad but it's just the way America is today. Had the trial gone the distance, the outcome would be the same. Hope this helps
