RIP to one of the greats.  He had been really ill for years.

Interesting that he lived in the same house he grew up in in Philly.

Financially, he was pretty low.

Some of the greatest jazz musicians in the world like Jimmy Bruno, Martino, etc. are flat broke.  This may be their own fault for not planning financially.

Bruno seems to have just lived month-to-month.  Probably never made a lot.

Martino's health problems must have been devastating financially.

Allan Holdsworth was flat broke too when he died. Had to have a fundraiser for his kids just to pay his final expenses because they didn't have money either.

That is sad.  These guys are incredible artists but likely never made much money. 

Holdsworth put out a lot of albums over the years.

Martino also put out a lot of albums.  I have a lot of them.  I doubt Martino sold a lot of record albums though.

And playing gigs probably didn't amount to a lot.

However, nobody owes you a living.
