But this year, trying to get his routine shot has been anything but.

I am happy to read that your down days are becoming less frequent. I too have moments when I feel depressed. But this is an extremely rare occurrence. And neither the good times nor the bad moments are affected by me being liberal or left leaning. If I were delusional, this would make all my days excellent days.
