they do lose money quite often on big failures in drug trials.

I did a five year stint in pharmacy financial planning, and went through the period where the pharmacies were basically printing money during what they called the "sweet spot", when a drug would go generic, but the PBMs would over compensate since they were clueless to what the actual cost of the drug was, due to the odd nature of the business (manufacturers selling to wholesalers, wholesalers selling to pharmacies, manufactures kicking back rebates outside of the wholesaler's knowledge, so the "true" price wasn't known).  Then I went through when that gravy train ended......right around the time lipitor was going generic.

I know the costs big pharma spends to get a drug to market, and how the drugs that make it are priced to recover the failures of others.

None of that absolves big pharma from what chaos is pointing out.  Use Vioxx as an example.

While these companies have produced legit medications that have improved quality of life, they are not above corruption.

I personally cannot trust them after the covid vax. You feel it was all "the best we knew at the time"....I feel there was too much information withheld, and the messaging around efficacy, effectiveness, and side effects was piss poor.

They have produced all of the lifesaving medications used and all the legit medications used. They aren't above corruption obviously, nothing is.

It was using a new type of vaccine that was researched for cancer for the first time in history for a virus I think came from a lab so they knew it was a fucking nightmare at first. I do firmly believe that. It has many oddities with it, the long aspect of it and neurological damage is very unique in several senses.

That's part of the issue.  There actually was a point in time if you said it came from a lab, you were vilified, demonetized, canceled etc....there are plenty of examples of youtube and such doing this.

And that is just for something completely benign.  It was worse if you questioned the vaccine, provided alternative ideas, challenged efficacy, etc......the whole thing was incompetence at best, nefarious at worst.

The communication from the government was not honest.  It was one option, and one option only.

I still can't believe that this was real and not an SNL skit!

Free fries when you get vaccinated for a virus that was only harmful to unhealthy people!

Media hacks would look into their cameras, scold, berate and wag their fingers because they believe themselves to be the voices of moral authority.

Here, Chuck Todd delivers a self-righteous sermon to Americans on vaccinations. This is what passed as a "news" program on MSNBC.

But this is revisionist history and a huge generalization that misses the actual history that enfolded. The death rate at the start in china was 5.25% the virus was most virulent at this point and became weaker overtime as is the case with most viruses. It tends to increase spread and propagation.

Global death rate was 2-3 percent. It wasn't just sick people dying although the amount of co-morbidities would put that group at about 70% of US citizens, it was causing myocarditis at higher rates than the vaccine did and does in young folks. We now know it causes neurological damage in many folks.

The vaccine reduces fatalities substantially while showing less rates of consequences then actually getting the virus, myocaditis for example. If the death rate stayed at 2-5% on the high end thats a fuck ton of people, a fuck ton did die in fact. Vaccines are proven to be effective, there is no dispute in the medical community on that, worldwide, its basic science.

The claim that it only killed the sick is disingenuous. 70-80% of those who died had things like hypertension- do you know how many US citizens have that or diabetes or cholesterol issues. Those over 60 (which is not old as it they are useless refuse) were most susceptible.

I can buy the lab leak theory tbh. I hate how the government handled it but I am aware that my hindsight bias is skewing my perception. In the moment, when China was being obliterated and they did not know which way the virus would trend it makes sense to rapidly do what they did. As it unfolded they were too protectionist and went over the top with it. The vaccine was rushed but it had to be, how else would it have been done?

@DrEliDavid

As late as 2021 some US hospitals were tying rubber gloves filled with hot water to dying people's hands, as they were denied family visits in their final moments.

Never forget the crimes they committed in the name of science.

@mazemoore

This is one of the most disgusting videos put out during the pandemic. It's really gross.

Naturally it was from The Jimmy Kimmel Show.
