Here's how it works, using my state of California as an example. You declare a covid emergency, and Ca receives $27 billion dollars in Federal Aid. So everybody wants that money. The teachers union says keep this shit an emergency and schools closed until we get a 5% pay raise and literally several thousand dollars in straight cash payoff to go back to work. And they got it. And more! Not for books and computers for kids, just money for your kid to learn about Critical Race Theory from semi qualified Los Angeles teachers. You know how much of the Federal covid BILLIONS that went to California went to testing and vaccination clinics? 10 FUCKING PERCENT!!!!!! 10%!!!!!
And then other lobbyists, buddies and donors to our governor want their cut. So let's have some major real estate developer get covid relief money for "covid recovery affordable housing" and build a fucking unaffordable luxury condo with it. And on and on and on.....Health care providers want their share, which rarely trickles down to actual brave nurses and ER workers but rather wealthy "administrator" salaries of bureaucrats at Cigna and others.
It's a cash grab.
