I was watching a movie called "Lady In The Water" a few nights ago (didn't finish it). Early on in the movie a character is introduced who is buff on one side of his body and average on the other because he intentionally only works out one side of his body. He says it's an experiment. Even though it's presented as a joke, I was thinking that it's actually a pretty logical way to study hypertrophy. Under certain conditions, it would probably be more informative than group averaging results.
Anybody know if any studies have ever been conducted like this?
