I heard it was woke- was it?

Not too bad unless I missed something.  There are some "girl power" moments but it's not too over the top.  I think folks might be upset that (spoiler) they make Trinity into "The One" at the end but I don't think they actually did that.

I watched it today, thought it was okay.  Has some good nostalgia moments.  I could be convinced it's on par with Matrix 2, depending on how much you like Matrix 2.  It's of course nowhere near as good as Matrix 1 but not as bad as Matrix 3.

Smith's character didn't make sense to me.  It's like they wanted him in the story but didn't know what to do with him.

NPH is miscast as the villain.

If I was scoring them:

Matrix 1: 100
Matrix 2: 75
Matrix 3: dogshit
Matrix 4: 70

It's surprising that the Wachowski brothers-turned-sisters would come up with anything woke.

Not really. Some lame comments at the end from Trinity and the Analyst, It's the same fucking movie , long & boring and the action scenes left a lot to be desired

There wasn’t a point to this movie.  It was long and boring.  The cinematography was so off compared to the original.  Just bad.  Not needed.

They are living in their own Matrix.

I don't know who was responsible for the first movie(not bearded ladies), but it was amazing for the time.

It was them.

Only the pink haired tranny was responsible for this one. The sister-brother wanted nothing to do with it.

The personal section of their wikipedia page is a riot.  A dominatrix working in social services is hilarious! ;D

"Lilly married Alisa Blasingame in 1991. In 2016, Lilly mentioned having a boyfriend. In 2019, she said Mickey Ray Mahoney became her partner and moved in with her. Mahoney is an adjunct professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a trans man.

Lana married Thea Bloom in 1993. Following the release of The Matrix, Lana began attending the Los Angeles BDSM club The Dungeon, where she met Karin Winslow, who worked there as a Dominatrix under the name Ilsa Strix. Bloom divorced Lana in 2002 after discovering the relationship. Lana and Karin made their first public appearance together at the premier of The Matrix Reloaded in 2003, and married in 2009. Winslow is a board member of the Chicago House and Social Service Agency.

Raised by a "hardcore atheist" father and an "ex-Catholic turned Shamanist" mother, the duo once described their religious beliefs as non-denominational. Lana is a vegetarian. During the Democratic Party presidential primaries of 2016, The Advocate posted a video message of Lana talking about why she would be supporting Bernie Sanders."

it really is a classic.  No idea what went wrong between that one and the other two ... Too much budget perhaps?

I suspect in 1999/2000 when the first one struck gold and sequels got greenlit, they didn't have much if any of a plan for what sequels would actually be about or why the further story is interesting and important to tell.

This isn't unusual in the movie-making business but unless the person with the final say in creative/artistic decisions is a once-in-a-generation visionary like George Lucas, it generally leads to sequels just being soulless cash-grabs.

The CGI in Matrix 2 was also pretty bad.  They were way to ambitious with the human character animation given what was the state of the art at the time.  I think that's why the similar stuff in Matrix 3 was obscured by rain (hide the flaws, similar to T-rex scene in Jurassic Park).

It was said that Will Smith was the first choice to play Neo but he turned it down to film another movie (which apparently bombed horribly at the box office) and that Smith has been kicking himself ever since.

They should break multiple women's records at any sport of their choice to redeem themselves.

They would have needed a white Morpheus or it would have bombed. If they had a white Morpheus people would have complained about a wise white man teaching a black man the truth.
