Everyone should have to turn pro naturally. It would eliminate the Palumbo's with shit genetics slamming the dose, thus forcing guys with elite genetics to slam the dose. No one outside of a small, hardcore fan base really cares about amateur contests anyway, the revenue comes from entry fees, and it would be exciting to then predict how elite, natural guys will blow up when they earn the right to use gear.
Here's Men's National Heavyweight winner Justin Shier, and he isn't even super Heavyweight, and he'll be told you need to put on dozens of lbs. of mass to go to the next level with the same or better conditioning. So what's a guy like Justin supposed to do? He already has to be slamming shit to look like that. And he'll have to up it to be a pro.
Strict natty testing to turn pro. Guys like Levrone, Ronnie, Kai, Jay, Dexter everybody knew they had it long before they ever touched steroids. Guys will cheat anyway to pass the test but it will control the crazy shit. Ban diuretics at amateur shows. Steroids don't kill overnight. It's the long term use. So why put these guys through years of abuse before they even know if they have a chance as a decent pro?
There are guys that try to turn pro for years like Meadows and by the time he turns pro and he's nearly in the grave. For 10th place at the Toronto Pro 212 class as a pro?
This started when they started handing out pro cards like candy.
