Mayweather is either over or under rated depending on who you ask. But he is not the greatest fighter ever. Most people regard Sugar Ray Robinson as the greatest, but there isn’t much or any footage of him in his prime at 147. Mayweather did cherry pick, but nonetheless he’s got some great wins on his resume. I’d say Floyd is in the top 10 easily, and possibly the top 5.
As far as who was the greatest fighter at his peak (not overall resume), I’d go Roy Jones Jr. There has never been a more physically gifted fighter, and he was as close to unbeatable in his prime as any fighter I’ve ever seen.

He was gifted a win for a trinket belt at 160lbs but was never really a middleweight. Meanwhile I am 225lbs and trained in grappling and MMA they are all just boxers and little ones.
