I mean, COME ON.  How often do you experience blunt force trauma to the point that it pending DEATH BLOW, and you just shrug it off and go to sleep?

That seems extremely unusual to me.

Did his head have a dent in it or anything to confirm this?  You'd think if you died from a blow to the head that it would need to be significant - you'd think it would have left obvious marks or scarring, or a GIANT DENT?

Was any of that present?

I listened to a podcast with Dr. Drew friday and he was very skeptical of this story also, said that people don't just get that kind of head trauma bump that could kill you and go to bed.  Something is going unsaid or someone is lying.
