I’m so jealous of Wes and others who got to bang 70s chicks. I love 70s chicks. I’m a big fan of bush and just the look of women then. Seems like a wonderful time to fuck your brains out. I HATE BALD PUSSIES.
There are some benefits to being old!   ;D

I pulled some quality pussy back in the day especially when I worked in a strip club.

The parachute coat

Franz Reichelt was a tailor by trade, but in the early days of powered human flight, he was inspired to design a suit that could be used as a parachute by pilots. After initial tests using dummies, he was so sure his design would work that in 1912 he decided to test it by jumping from the lower level of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France.

Sadly for Franz, his design failed to work and he fell to his death in a matter of seconds. However, thanks to pioneering spirits like this we now have wing suits used for base jumping, as well as parachutes and ejector seats for pilots.

Sinclair C5 electric tricycle
The Sinclair C5 is one of those inventions that was far too ahead of its time. Before its launch, Sir Clive Sinclair had a great reputation as a successful inventor and father of the home computer – the launch of his ZX Spectrum in 1982 revolutionized home computing. But when his Sinclair C5 electric tricycle was launched in 1985, all of that was forgotten.

Amazingly, the C5 could be legally driven on the road in the UK. However, at about 80cm height, every other vehicle tower above it, making it very unsafe.

But that's not all. Battery life was low (with a range of just 20 miles) and the C5 could only achieve a top speed of 24kph (15mph). The reviews were dreadful, sales were poor, and Sinclair's reputation lay in tatters.

Hydrogen airships
Many companies produced airships, but it was the emergence of the Zeppelin company that saw massive growth in their popularity. Zeppelin had a great idea – equip an airship with a luxurious cabin and fly people across the Atlantic Ocean quickly and comfortably. During the late 1920s and early 1930s, this become a popular means of getting from Europe to the USA.

What was less of a good idea was to fill these balloons with highly explosive hydrogen gas. Accidents were fairly common, but the visibility of the Hindenburg disaster of 1937 (which saw 36 people lose their lives when the airship exploded as it landed) ended the age of the airship in one fell swoop.

SEGA Dreamcast
For those of us of a certain age, the name SEGA still conjures up images of late nights trying to complete Sonic the Hedgehog before bedtime. But by the time the Dreamcast came along in 1999, SEGA was already starting to look like a shadow of their former selves.

The Dreamcast looked good on paper, with an innovative controller and online gameplay. But a lack of third-party titles and the launch of Sony's all-conquering Playstation 2 sounded the death knell of SEGA as a console manufacturer in 2001.

Apple PIPPIN

Apple has failed many times on its way to becoming the most successful company on earth. Pippin was Apple’s failed internet-capable TV gaming console that only lasted on the market for two years. It flopped because it cost three times more than the Nintendo 64 and it only had 18 games. PCWorld named Pippin one of the “25 Worst Tech Products of All Time.”

Betamax video
Most bad inventions fail because they are ill-thought-out. But in the world of home video systems, Sony's Betamax system was in fact miles better in terms of picture quality when compared to its rival Video Home System (VHS). However, it sold poorly in comparison due to the adoption of VHS by the adult film industry, as well as the higher cost of the system.

Despite launching in 1975, Sony only stopped producing Betamax tapes in 2016, making it a very curious example of a relatively unsuccessful product with a very long life.

Apple Newton
Paper and pen is a classic combination. But in the early 1990s, Apple decided that what the world needed was a modern take. The trouble was that the resultant Apple Newton tablet was expensive and mostly hopeless. Its handwriting recognition was so poor it became synonymous with overambitious and pointless technology.

These were the lean years for Apple, before the days of the iPod and iPhone. Steve Jobs had been pushed out of the company in 1985 but was brought back on board in 1997. Pretty much his first act was to axe the Newton product line.

Crystal Pepsi
In the 1990s, marketers were obsessed with the idea of purity. Clear drinks signaled purity and health, so a clear soda seemed to be an excellent bet. With a massive advertising campaign, Crystal Pepsi became an instant albeit short-lived success. The company learned from the mistake and leadership later said, “It would have been nice if we made sure the product tasted good.”

The Lady Lionel
The girls’ train was one of these desperate attempts to stay relevant. Girls were being ignored by the world of model railroading, and the company's solution was to create a train especially for girls. How? By painting ordinary train sets in pink pastel colors. Instead of hauling coal or freight, the trains were designed to carry cute miniature furniture.

The girls’ trains were a disappointing derailment. The "Lady Lionel" set (Model 1587S), was a radical departure from the traditional black, gray, and silver locomotives that had defined the brand for decades. The whole package was pastel-colored surrealism in stark contrast to the gritty realism that had made Lionel trains famous. Turns out girls also liked playing with trains, but for the same reasons as boys, for the realism and the joy of building miniature worlds. The girls’ train was quickly discontinued with some trains returned to the factory for repainting.

Bic for Her
The Bic Company is perhaps best known for its low-cost razors, cigarette lighters, and ballpoint pens. In 2011, they launched a line of pens specifically designed “to fit comfortably in a woman's hand.”

The sexist idea that women need special pens was mocked from day one. The customer reviews on Amazon about Bic For Her are much funnier than anything we could ever come up with.

Dyson Zone
Dyson invented the bagless vacuum cleaner and continues to innovate. However, innovation may have gone overboard with their 2023 Zone air-purifying headphones. The Zone’s detachable visor that goes over the mouth purifies the air for urban commuters. But who needs a $949 air purifying gadget that makes you look like a science fiction villain? Upon its 2022 reveal, Dyson had to defend itself from social media roasts, clarifying that “This is no April Fool’s joke.” Realizing their mistake, Dyson now markets the Zone as high-end noise-canceling headphones, ditching the air-purifying angle. Even the slogan morphed from “Pure Audio. Pure Air. Anywhere” to “Pure Audio. Advanced noise cancellation”, with the visor quietly disappearing from promotional photos.

Phone Fingers
Don’t you just hate getting finger smudges on your phone? When smartphones became popular an Austrian invented a solution. Phone Fingers are little finger condoms you put on to avoid those annoying fingerprints all over your screen.

Like regular condoms, Phone Fingers came in a variety of sizes and colors. And like regular condoms, they were sometimes difficult to put on, which interrupted the mood of using a phone.

My Friend Cayla
Cayla was an internet-connected doll that used speech recognition to communicate with children. She could tell stories, carry on basic conversation, and even look up information - cute, right? The doll was named the most innovative toy of the year but failed miserably at safeguarding basic consumer rights, security, and privacy.

Everything the child said to Cayla was recorded, sent to data centers, and then sold to marketers who spied on children to learn about their consumer interests. Cayla often talked about how much she loved different commercial products, which wasn’t a coincidence since companies paid for this advertising. The doll was banned in Germany.

Growing up Skipper
Barbie’s younger sister, Skipper, was created by Mattel in 1964. By the mid-70’s, the company decided it was time for her to grow up a bit. When girls rotated Growing Up Skipper’s left arm forward, she developed breasts. Rotate the same arm backward, and she went back to pre-pubescence. Creeeepy. Mattel was criticized for sexualizing a teenage girl. The doll was a big bust. Let’s hope that Mattel learned its lesson: dolls simply shouldn’t grow up.

((WTF))

Rejuvenique Mask
American Hollywood star Linda Evans was the spokesperson for the Rejuvenique facial mask, a device that zaps your face with electric shocks. It was to be strapped onto the face for 15 minutes, three to four times a week for younger-looking skin. The mask seems to be taken straight from a horror movie. According to one user review, the device “feels like a thousand ants are biting my face.” It was never tested or safety-approved.

Hawaii Chair
Listed on Time Magazine’s 2010 “50 Worst Inventions”, many of us late-night viewers must humbly disagree. The Hula Chair commercials demonstrated the ultimate ab-workout while at work. “If you can sit, you can get fit.” Selling points included “stimulating body awareness and verve while massaging inner organs.” On the Ellen Show, Ellen DeGeneres rocked the chair’s fame as she demonstrated how ridiculous it was to use in the office. Aloha, Hula Chair!

Pinky GLOVES
These plastic gloves allow women to remove tampons without getting blood on their hands and to discreetly dispose of them. The two male inventors pitched their idea to investors on Germany’s Shark Tank TV program. They understood women because they had once lived with a female housemate and noticed period products in the rubbish bin. Lucky for them celebrity investor Ralf Dümmel invested €35,000.

Unlucky for them: Women HATED the product. How could these men think this dumb product was revolutionary? How dare they try to shame women for being unclean while changing their tampons when 70% of men don't wash their hands after peeing at public toilets.

The male inventors realized their mistake and later apologized, “Please stop attacking and threatening us. The development of our product and our communication was not well thought out. People make mistakes - and you have to deal with mistakes, you have to learn from them and you should also be given the chance to work on mistakes.”

Jarts Lawn Darts
These outdoor game darts had weighted metal spikes, not especially sharp but heavy. And very dangerous. The box warned that this was not a game for children. But this did not prevent over 6000 children from getting seriously hurt, many with permanent injuries. After lawn darts killed three children they were banned in 1988.

(I actually had these as a kid)
