Those people aren`t related to me Kwon.....it was the narration above the pics posted by the photographer who was the actual relative.

My sister sent me a ton of family pics, as I was a gypsy losing lots of personal belongings during my drinking days, couch surfing, street life, etc........I do cherish those pics......my mom died from Cancer at the tender age 48......way too young.......she was a great lady with a messed up son who has since made amends as best I could and I believe I became a better person for it.....but that`s up for debate!   ;D

It literally took me 7 years to accept my mom's death as she was my best friend, I went on a 7 year drinking binge in full depressed mode.............my father was a woman beating drunk so even though I was far from a mamas boy I could talk to my mom about anything as opposed to my father who couldn`t have given a shit about his family what so ever.

When she passed I poured drinks on supposedly tough pimps shoes repeatedly....stared into their eyes like I was a madmen, followed them around the bar and kept pouring drinks on their kicks until the pussies left, kicked out department store plate glass windows, dared bouncers to evict me from bars, and nobody had the balls to try to out crazy me.

Sorry about the tangent and TMI but it`s still a bad memory for me as  I could have done much better by her.

My mom in the pic below...........very young. !!

Same here Wes, i blamed myself for my mothers death for many years ( i couldnt save her with CPR and she died in my arms) and i was a wreck for several years after that.

I was always on my mothers side growing up when my parents argued and shoes were flying.

I know the feeling and i can understand what you went through since it was similar for me.

My grandmother in the upper row here and my great Grandmother in the center. (Quite the Matriarchy at that time since she outlived her husband)
My only memory of my grandmother is this.

I can relate Kwon...my mother died right in front of me in the ICU......I was the only one present.

I went berserk......but that`s another story.

Sorry you had to go through that brother.

Volunteer military nurse, Virgínia Portocarrero, in Italy during her time in the Brazilian expeditionary Force 1943-1945. Very popular among the troops for her beauty, she was the subject of songs. Returning as a decorated nurse, she rejoined the army in 1957, becoming a captain in 1963.

Such a sweet memory Wes! Hope you are cherishing it and keeping all your old photos of your relatives that are not with us anymore.

This is the only memory i have of my grandmother.

She passed away way too early.

Florida’s last Civil War veteran, Bill Lundy, poses with a jet fighter, 1955.  While Lundy claimed to have served with the 4th Alabama Cavalry, later census records suggested he was born around 1859, making him only six years old at the end of the Civil War.  Despite the historical disputes regarding his military service, he received a soldier's pension and was widely celebrated in Florida as the last Civil War veteran

A “Trench Raider” during WW1. Both sides had them. Trench raiders were specialized soldiers sent in small groups to infiltrate enemy lines, gather intelligence, destroy fortifications, and eliminate defenders.  The soldier is equipped for close-quarters combat with a revolver (likely a Modèle 1892), a dagger or fighting knife, which replaced traditional rifles and bayonets in the confined space of a trench, and brass knuckles. It was a fully volunteer position.

Gold depository at the New York federal reserve in 1959.  The worker is wearing specialized metal metatarsal guards over his shoes to protect his feet from heavy gold bars.  None of the gold stored here belongs to the Federal Reserve; it acts as custodian for foreign governments, central banks, and international organizations.
