FYI tge Spanish flu did not come from Spain. The Spanish influenza raged during WWI. Many of the nations involved in WWI were reporting about the progress of the war and developments on the front lines. Spain sat out of WWI and consequently reported more coverage of the flu. The flu probably originated somewhere in the states but went world wide with troops being shipped all over the world. Because spanish news papers were the only sources of information on the influenza it became known as the Spanish flu.
