The top photo of Hedy Lamarr which Henda posted reminded me of an interesting experience from my past.

When I was in my 20's I worked at May Co. department store on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles (Miracle Mile). It was during that time that Hedy Lamarr (pictured above) was apprehended by security for shop lifting. She was found not guilty in 1966.

This was May Company's flagship store. Movie stars and celebrities frequently shopped there. Morton May CEO was the son of May Co. founder David May. Morton hobnobbed with folks in the movie industry. He was very upset over her apprehension and the subsequent scandal. The security person who caught her was fired.

Another frequent shopper was singer Lena Horne. She was as elegant looking in person as she was in photos.
