They have rights in Michigan. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit jealous.

I should focus on finding a way to escape to the USA to live there. By 2030, Canada will either be free again, and similar to the USA, or a Western communist country on a social credit system. I'm only just barely thinking this is back to 50/50 odds with the trucker protest currently happening.

My line in the sand is whether or not forced vaccination in perpetuity in order to buy food becomes law here.

If so, there is no way around it - I have to move to the USA.

One of my favourite states for sure.

After watching the 1979 movie "Hardcore", I saw that there were neighbourhoods in Grand Rapids that look exactly like neighbourhoods here.

Big difference: you have freedom there.

Question: what's the Covid situation like now? From the videos Tr55 is posting, people seem mostly mask-free in gyms.

Is the hysteria voluntary there now?

Right now, I literally had to get a fake job as an equipment tester to be able to work out at my gym. Well...it's a real job, but can you believe that - having to use a loophole like that just to train?

And even then - gyms are closed until the 31st - even to the vaccinated!! And that's assuming that date isn't postponed, which it wouldn't surprise me if it is.

I pride myself in being my own man and everything - but I won't be able to find loopholes when they start sending the army door to door to jab people. And that wouldn't surprise me AT ALL if that happens.

Are the good people of Michigan just moving on with their lives more or less? Or are they double masked despite being triple jabbed, and hiding in their homes?

Thunder Bay Wal-Mart - when I went there for a haircut last Thursday, I only saw ONE other person unmasked. Out of however many are in Wal-Mart at any given time. Maybe 300?

Since Omicron starting spreading rapidly, I've noticed more masks in the gyms but they are definitely in the minority. Very few places here in Michigan require proof of vax or recent test to enter. The only place I can think of is the theater we are going to in a couple weeks to see a live performance. This place also will require masks whether vaxxed or not. Also, very few places here require masks. I don't wear mine at the gym but admittedly will put it on when I go into the grocery store. Doesn't hurt me to do it and I figure the people working there have to wear one for 8 hours so I can wear one for 20 minutes. My choice. Overall, to answer your question, it has felt pretty normal here in Michigan since the summer. The biggest pain in my ass is that my Tim Hortons has drastically reduced their hours and I am forced to get dunkin donuts coffee more often than I'd like.
