Does anyone care about age anymore?

Testosterone levels [and sperm count] has dropped a staggering 50% in the past 50 years.

It seems to me like we are not even the same human being anymore. Not I the industrialized world, at least.

Charles Bronson started the geriatric action hero genre with the first Dearh Wish, in 1974. I think he was 53 that year.

That series lasted until Death Wish V in 1994, which was the only one I don't watch. Bronson was over 70 then.

Now we have Liam Neeson as our modern geriatric action star, and Arnold was still making a movies at least as old as 65 or more.

Sometimes this theme gets made fun of - like Stallone in Grudge Match, which came out when he is was 67.

So yeah, I think it could be done.

Van Damme has just recently turned 61, right? Stallone was 58-59 when Rocky Balboa was filmed.

I think it could be done...but would it be better to have him in the lead, as a secondary or background character, or just behind the scenes?

I think Van Damme could still do a lot of the work that taxes his physicality, even at his age. He was in a short-lived Amazon Prime series, and was able to still do stunts.

We could get a new young stud like Rami Malek to be in action movies.

I always remember onlyme saying he met van damme prefame along with his best friend, guy who plays tong po in kickboxer and if memory serves me the man  Chong Li pops the bone out of his leg in bloodsport.

He said he didnt get any star quality off van damme and his best friend seemed far more charasmatic and movie star like, and he thought he would be the one who made it big. Just goes to show you never know who the camera picks up and who it doesnt.

I met Frank Dux in the 90s when I was a youngster and got a chance (he had no chance to move away from me because of seating) to spend time with him (pester him with never ending questions) and he signed an autograph for me and I believe he had a autobiography he signed as well for me.

What did you ask him?

Did he say anything interesting?
