There was an Armenian Holocaust where the Ottoman Empire exterminated Armenians in WW1.  In fact it helped create America's War Refugee Board, that saved hundreds of thousands of Jews in WW2 so the Armenian Holocaust would never happen again.

That's an interesting point regarding the outright anti-Semites allowed to hold high positions within congress/the American government.

Although I still think Jews hold, pound for pound, the greatest political clout for any group in the USA, he does make a point about anti-Semites [be it anti-Jewish people - what people would call me...even though that's a misrepresentation or mis-characterization of my views - or anti-Israeli people] being in positions of influence.

Yes, and I think that's what everyone should think about.  To not apply characteristics to individuals, even when they are common.

I think it's possible to judge individuals as individuals, and groups as groups.  If I met an American Jew, I WOULD assume he or she is a Democrat voter.  And that's based on various past election results [I believe 87% for Obama I, which dropped substantially, possibly to as low as 71% for Obama II, likely for throwing Israel under the bus].

That's still 7 in 10.  Even 67% would be 2 in 3 American Jews voting Democrat.  Do I stereotype on this basis?  Yes, I do - but I consider it mathematics, and I understand that individuals vary.

So to me, while I do sort of generalize in this way, I always keep in mind that individuals are individuals, and should be judged individually.

What I wonder about Whoopi's case is - might she be MISTAKEN?  If so, are mistakes not allowed anymore?
