These old Clint Eastwood movies are horrendous

We got Dirty Harry every night.

I used to accuse Russian novelists of getting away with their endless shit because there just wasn't anything else to do. So 800 pages was fine. What else you gonna do? Stare at the cow?

So the 70s must have been about as much fun. I got "Tightrope" on. A man in a ski mask was ominously eating a chocolate chip cookie. Then Clint came in and saw a half eaten cookie on the counter next to a cup of tea. That's when he grew suspicious. So always check for half eaten cookies when you come home.

Maybe it was raisin oatmeal.

The make my day punk one was on last night. That entire film needed to be 3 minutes long.

He can't even run 50 feet.

Maybe this Dirty Harry shit was 'suspenseful' back then, but these days it's 2 hours of nothing happening. People would sit in cinemas for this. They thought it was good. None of them ever screamed MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN!

most older movies I now look back at are like, huh??? really???
like the charles bronson stuff, etc

Heartbreak Ridge is one of my favorites.  Too many GetBig moments to count.

His Orangutang-movies were hilarious.

William Smith was a great adversary.

Gran Torino is solid viewing beginning to end, no question. Great pace.

But I must test your dedication. Two of the longest films I ever sat through were Bird and Flags of Our Fathers. Bird could have ended a few times even though it didn't, but Flags contains no less than 6 gather-up-your-coat-and-popcorn endings, but the film persists every time.

I knew I was rolling the dice with this thread but I've had a few whiskeys, which I needed because Tightrope was on.

And quit backfiring my threadya louzy loutzes I ain't had my fill tell me when I've had enough ya loutzes.

Chuck Norris was going to take over the Kersey role after DWII because Bronson wanted more money, but didn't because he didn't like all the violence in it. Bronson himself didn't like DWIII, but they wound up paying him a boatload of money. Apparently, no one like director Michael Winter, and afterward, Bronson got more money and better creative control over his films.

At the time, Norris was considered the bigger star than Bronson.
