Seems like they're mostly settling on the unofficial 'Republic' regions.
So far their military objectives failed in the north to take Kiev and the surrounding regions.
The Russian did not fail. The goal from day 1 is to de-Nazify the Ukraine, not take over the country. I know Putin is a dirty fucker, but we have to take his words at face value.
What the Russians did, since they're outnumbered 3:1, was open up 3 fronts (north, east and south) in order to separate the different Ukrainian battalions. Now, the Ukrops in the north cannot move south, the ones in the east are pretty much done and the ones in the south are pretty much toast and about to get encircled.
To me, it's clear: Russia has already won. The Ukrainian military has no way out of a slow death.
What we're going to see from here on in is entire Ukrainian battalions surrendering to the Russians and eventually a total collapse of the Ukrainian campaign. Once Zelensky flies out of the Ukraine, that'll be the point and time we'll know the Ukraine is toast.
