I used to read the news on RT. I never saw any in person footage, testaments, from the people of Donbass. Russia did invade those areas to begin with. And blitzing the Russian speaking peoples cities does not sound like helping them. I do not deny there have been atrocities committed by the Ukrainian forces there. Maybe it could of all been prevented if Russia was not so insecure and content with is already massive country. I wont be forgetting about it all in a month and sympathize with human suffering the world over.
This was never about expanding their territory (Russia is 11 time zones) But more about NATO expansion and having a buffer zone, against continuous western advances i.e. NOT having missiles in range of Moscow. If you listen to Putin speeches he warned the EU/Nato
repeatedly but it feel on deaf ears...
Like the USA has the "munroe doctrine" the best known U.S. policy toward the Western Hemisphere. it warns European nations that the United States would not tolerate further colonization or puppet monarchs.
The US wouldn't stand for it with Cuba - almost ended in a Nuclear war, so why would Russia?...Super powers don't react kindly to tiny "sovergien "countries placing 'enemy" missiles near them...
This was a completely preventable tragedy if:
A) had NATO quit expanding & Western financed interference had stopped (installing their puppet monarchs, financing revolutions, sending "lethal aid", proxy wars etc)
B) Ukraine could have reassured the Russians they would remain neutral.
Russia is a serious country with serious people! If you're going to sleep next to a bear..best not to poke it. But the West/Zelensky thought they could, they "fucked around and found out" and now they're blaming the bear

as usual the ones who will suffer will be the ordinary people of Ukraine, Russia and the West.
