Love the fact that people here think that sanctions aren’t working because of an artificially inflated ruble.

But of course, sanctions aren’t working.
Sanctions definitely work.
The sanctions in place work by choking out consumption of the West by removal of cheap energy. If we import 50% of our needs, cut off energy and we might find we survive only requiring 5% of needs which can be supplied by local friendly countries.
Once EU and UK are crushed by energy, we might find their end level energy needs can be met by France’s nuclear sector. It will just mean significantly less consumption vs today.
The Ruble argument is a red herring to the outcome. What we have is under developed countries buying from shit poor Russia. It’s equivalent to looking at a group of 10 poor people trade a pair of Nike Jordan’s and being jealous.
