Bostin Loyd's contribution to bodybuilding was exposing steroid/PED addiction. He said openly "I'm an addict" and many bodybuilders lie to themselves about their steroid/PED addiction. Just because it's a different type of addiction, it's still very real, and the increasing number of deaths reflect that.
Bostin once drew the analogy that a heroin addict doesn't make fun of other addicts that use "too much" heroin. You either are an addict or you aren't. And he was an addict, admitted it, and said he can't stop. It's courageous, especially when NO ONE else in bodybuilding has the balls to make such an admission.
