I have a 2,000w scooter. Does 70km/hr and range is 50km for a $0.10 full charge. if we ran out of wine I’d jump in and scoot down to the bottle shop and back. I take it with me when I travel for mountain biking as it’s Easier to simply jump on and get into town vs car.
Govts will build more infrastructure around personal EVs in the near future. I wish we had more here, so much easier on a scooter than a car.
Rapid chargers are the only viable option for mass ev usage in the United States. Just so you know, a rapid charge station (just ONE) uses 150 kw per HOUR. The average home in the US uses 1.5 kw per DAY. So just one charger uses as much electricity per HOUR as 225 homes use in a DAY.
Now picture every gas pump in your city switched to a rapid charge station, where each vehicle must park for about one hour per charge. We will need to more than quintuple our power generation capability and upgrade our transmission lines more than tenfold.
Any doubts in my statements just peruse google for yourself.
