I had a deviated septum fixed which was pretty brutal to deal with temporarily.

Some of the worst pain was from the breathing tube after though.

I’ve never heard of it causing permanent damage to someone though.

I have used a opioid drug similar to that (tapentadol) and it just made me sleepy. Didn't relieved me the pain from my herniated disc either, so i stopped it.
