Lets talk about fat cells
« on: March 15, 2022, 11:52:30 PM »
Am I understanding this correctly?  New fat cells are created (and created quickly) when a person over-eats in childhood and throughout their adult lives.  When you diet you can shrink the size of the fat cells but never reduce the total number of them.  So....if you ate sloppy at different points in your life and "got fat", you have more total fat cells then people that ate more responsibly?  Do the Getbig fitness experts have any comments about the creation of fat cells and the role it plays in the long term physique goals of different individuals?  I'd like to learn more about this.  Hold my hand and talk to me like a small child.  This seems like kind of a big deal but I don't hear a lot of people talking about it.

You are correct. Fat cells are permanent. I think that the only way to actually get rid of fat cells is through liposuction.

I think some people can develop new fat cells and some can't. Those who can can actually get really fat without having health issues cause their bodies have a place to store new fat. Other people experience health issues sooner cause they fill up their fat cells and can't make new ones.

You do not have it correct the part in bold is wrong. You body can create new fat cells until adulthood around the age of 20. After that they are set for life. So yes absolutely being lean in childhood or being a fat kid has a huge impact on your body composition the rest of your life. You are only shrinking and expanding them after that. I was lean as a child and dieted during puberty for wrestling. I didn't start weight lifting and bulking until about 18. I absolutely can not get fat I have tried.

They were fucked at birth. They can still get lean but it is a lifelong battle to not blow up to their natural fatfuckness.

I've read that the number of fat cells can indeed be reduced by a long-term calorie restrictive diet.

Skinny fat people. I was never skinny fat I had abs my entire life. Yes I did add some fat cells from 18-20 bulking. I have some around my midsection but I have none on my legs or arms. I can get a little softer but fuck no I can not get fat. I am much more worried about getting thinner in my old age not fatter.

neither do men in general

What happens in old age depends on your calorific intake
As you age your muscle mass deteriorates and as such you need less calories, you are aware thats why many bodybuilders get fat?
They carry on eating the same even after they stop training and lose muscle tissue

1) No...you haven't.  You claim you are anorexic....two opposite ends of the spectrum dumb ass

2) Get off all the chemical shit you are on (which you lie about) and stop training.  You would...you don't have some magical metabolism.  Fuck off with your Flex magazine comments like that

Its a hell of a phenomenon.  Butthanky is correct on the point that you don't gain fat cell in adulthood.  There is cellular turnover of fat cells of about 10 - 20%.  I see so many fat parents with fat kids and you then wonder how much more obese the kids will be when they get to adulthood.

Did not know on the creation of fat cells. So definitely important when raising a kid to have them eat right and be active.

Crazy how when I was a kid my mom was yelling at me to come home, bmx bikes, roller hockey, flag football, etc. today kids have PlayStation and crap.

I am 44 years old I have attempted to bulk through force feeding for decades. I have never been able to get anywhere close to fat. My body will absolutely purge the excess calories before it stores them. My stomach will revolt. I do not have the strorage capacity for fat or the ability to eat enough calories I have tried diligently for years. I would be 250lbs plus if I had the capacity I do not.

I really barely train for fear I will overtain and lose too much weight. I am telling you guys I eat nonstop and barely move and lift 3 times a week and I am lean and can't gain another ounce. I absolutely can not get fat and yes absolutely I believe it is from dieting during puberty and not having many fat cells.

Yeah I was lifting upper body almost everyday then and I developed tendonitis. Currently I am training more legs which require more rest and recovery.

Don’t know about y’all, but I haven’t found it harder to lose body fat as I’ve gotten older. Sure, I’m not as strong or as fast as I was in my prime, but I find that if tighten up the diet the fat comes off just as easily.

You barely move but you go for runs on the beach, snowboard and many other athletic activities as you regained use of your legs?

Same here. Watch the fattest loser and the oldies still drop loads of weight. The youngest don’t seem to win on that show either.

Getting fatter when we are older is more to do with lifestyle than the body. At 18 you meet friends and go kick a ball, ride a bike, walk around. At 35 your socialising is based around eating and/or drinking.
