That is about the year... maybe 70 .. that I won a Santana album from the local top 40 radio station in town. I had to get my dad to drive me to the station and get it.Was the album that had the lions face that if you looked real close it had a woman on it. I played the grooves off that thing for a few years.

I lived in San Antonio 1999-2001

Sanatana was prob on any given radio station 100% of the time

really started liking that music , esp when I was blazing Mex brick herb in HS

I know the album well my friend.....I have almost all of his stuff except the compilation type albums.

people used to actually play instruments back in the day.
some legendary 80's metal of course (Maiden, etc) but 70's hard-rock cannot be beat IMO.

You are not even familiar with the options today because you are still listening to the same albums from 30 years ago. There are thousands of choices now some of which you would like. You just don't seek out new music your brain will function better with new material. There were like 10 fucking bands 30 years ago there are better musicians in every category now if you actually were willing to learn new things.

Todays music is complete garbage. I dont even recognize a musical instrument in 90% of the songs on the radio.

There's some decent music out there. You just got to find it. They don't play it on the radio.

Because my kids are young, by proxy I hear the radio all the time and tried to roll with the new shit. I didn't want to be the old man bitching about how much music sucks now. And as late as 2016 you'd occasionally hear a drcent pop song on the radio..... but thats it. Nothing since then. Its absolute fucking garbage.
