Interview with Big Loz [Lawrence Shahlaei]:
Jean-Francois Caron is Canada's
strongest man ever. Unless you buy into the myths surrounding his fellow French Canadian Louis Cyr, propagated by Jewish bodybuilding mogul/impressario Ben Weider.
JF had an amazing career, and was won Canada's Strongest Man from 2011 through to 2019, and would have won in 2020 had it not been for the contest cancelled because of
fucking Covid health mandates to protect Canadians.
French Canadians have had an incredible run with Canada's Strongest Man and have won every CSM since 1996 when Newfoundland's Robert Ploughman won.
Oddly, no France Frenchmen have never made any noise at World's Strongest Man that I am aware of [I think bodybuilder Morgan Aste won Paris' Strongest Man]. But French Canadians have done very well, and JF was a consistent top 4-5 finisher many times, and had his best result in 2020, when he placed 3rd [his one and only podium finish].
Both myself and Big Loz thought JF would win in 2020, but Tom Stoltman placed 2nd, and Aleksii Novikov won [out of nowhere].
JF will be 40 in June, so I think it's safe to say he's done with Strongman.
This is a blessing in disguise, IMO. JF is the same age as Brian Shaw, and it would have been hard for him to improve on his 3rd place finish.
This injury may have ended his career, but IMO, it saved his life.
