They like to blame the opioid epidemic on doctor's over prescribing narcotics.  Well, opioid Rx are down 45% since 2011 and overdoses continue to set new records.

The real cause is that people are left worse off year after year, with less money in their pockets and no future to plan for.  50-60 years ago you could buy a house and support a family with one parent working.  Nowadays both parents work at least one job, with little savings or equity to show for it. The opioid epidemic is a symptom of a sick society, not an individual moral failing.

I’m thankful I am one who can recognize life as it is. Not be yet another bamboozled buffoon playing at fake angles and platitudes.

You get what you get.

We all die alone. But around me will be family, likely busy changing CDs as I bang my head as best I can.

And I won’t be miserable.

Fortress will be ROCKING.

My father died when I was young. Shortly after it happened I recall walking around the street and seeing people going about their business and thinking to myself “My father just died and nobody cares.” It was a good life lesson.

To be fair people are not overdosing because they are taking Fentanyl they are overdosing because they don't know how much Fentanyl they are taking or that they are taking it at all. Imagine if every time you drank a beer you didn't know if it was 5% ABV or 95% ABV spiked with moonshine how many people would be dead? That is why alcohol is regulated and even drunks rarely overdose and die. When you regulate drugs and people know what they are getting and the dosage overdoses and deaths fall to near 0 levels. The war on drugs is not about saving lives.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/06/05/why-hardly-anyone-dies-from-a-drug-overdose-in-portugal/

Yes, exactly.

I don't even know why people take the risk.

In Canada, apparently, you can make $60,000 in government benefits alone, just from pumping out three fetal alcohol syndrome babies. Not to mention free healthcare and other benefits.

All the while, others work and make fuck all, after being robbed of taxes.

That's part of why I stopped working...I realized I was only doing it to support ungrateful people. I was giving $2,000 a month to people + charity, above and beyond any legal obligations.

And I had to pay taxes on that money.

So I just said "Fuck it."

With that, I've lost some meaning in my life, but I just can't bear to know I'm paying for all these losers while having to hear how racist White people are. I'm just sick of it.

I can't say what's driving this despair for White people in general - but for me, it's that.

It's probably a bunch of things.

The fat acceptance movement is utter cancer. Apparently one Plus-sized model died at age 33 or something, of her severe obesity.

Now we're allowing women in men's washrooms and in women's sports. I don't know how much this stuff concerns other people, but I think it's crazy.

did you lose meaning, or did you just become spoiled and even ungrateful because at this point you are used to not having to wake up and go to some soul sucking job?

i think if you went back to work for a little bit and had some idiot boss or gossiping trouble making coworkers you would appreciate what you got more

What are you talking about? Maybe near you but the junkies out here are ODing and dying on the regular

i'm talking about the stuff they're calling fentanyl these days, isn't the same 'fentanyl' that was killing everyone 2,3 years ago. they're different 'research chemical' opiates similar to fentanyl. most the 'fent' is now 'zenes'.. like isotonitazene, or metaprozene or whatever. there was 'purple heroin' all over the midwest that everyone thought was just died fent, but it's something called brorphine. some of the zenes have half lives longer than methadone so you can't do the normal suboxone induction because suboxone even 3days after your last dose will still put you into horrific precipitated withdrawal.

Same here. Fuck em all. I’ve had a few good friends go the drug addict route and 1 died and 1 is still just a loser, when the first one died I said oh well he chose his path. The second will die soon I imagine and he was a best friend for 15 years but he is and has been useless for many years now so good riddance to him as well.  WEAKNESS.
