These are volunteer, professional armed forces, not Vietnam era draftees.

I mostly agree with you. But just to play devil's advocate - I think the unwritten agreement was for NATO to not go into any former Soviet areas, which NATO already has. I could be wrong about that. But if that was the arrangement why draw the line at anything past Ukraine? We've already broken the deal by admitting the Baltic countries, Poland, et al.

Physical war between Russia and the Ukraine.

Global sanctions on Russia and its badly required energy and resources which basically cuts our own legs off.

Energy shutdown to reduce consumption and raise prices to help fight the above sanctions.

Military equipment sent by all countries to the Ukraine to help fight Russia.

What more do people want? WW3 was always said to be fought economically and technologically which is exactly what is playing out now.

*You move to the country - specifically areas with resources/agriculture which secures your best chances (I did this).
*You buy your wants in 2020-21 to beat price rises and inventory shortages (I did this).
*You live in a property that supports multi generational living. This provides greater economy of scale, less wastage, greater wealth and support as you age. I recently built a large 3 generation home.
*learn to Reduce your wastage today so it’s not a shock later. Learn to cook. Meal prep in a chest freezer.

Basically learn to live like it’s 1905 before cars were everywhere. That’s where we are headed, no joke.

This year will be the last deflationary wave of opportunity you have. I hear you but the guys I’ve spoken who were over in Afghanistan told me they all knew it was a bullshit endless war and what the commanding officers were saying in public we’re not what they were believing in private.

Would  the army be making offers like this if business were booming?

You were too chicken sht to serve?? Obviously the fear of fighting, being shot at, having to kill terrifies you. That’s ok. There are plenty of men who insure that you don’t have to.

That said - do I believe that we need to keep our asses home and focus on the REAL reason for having a dominate military force. I don’t regret following / relaying orders - and I think some of the best men can be formed during combat - but its sick that politicians and the defense industry has no problem donating the lives of young men in order to secure profits.
