I never realized that Musk didn’t start Tesla nor invented the cars they make. He was just an investor and took the company over once the original guys developed the roadster. He’s such a fucking fraud acting like he is the brains behind Tesla and the new electric cars.

You've actually stated what he's great at.

The parts needed to manufacture Tesla required loads of different specialist technology. What Musk did is go to specialist companies under the guise of working with them, learn from them, steal their secrets and fuck them over by bringing it all in house. The guys who originally developed the roadster would probably not have been able to all that. They would still be sitting on a concept car that would be too expensive to take to market.

Musk takes something and makes it better in ways very few can, and yes many of his methods are "evil".

Sandy Munro who worked for over forty years in the auto industry sat in on a design review at Tesla with Elon and he said you would never have seen a CEO from the big three participating. It doesn't matter how good of an engineer he is, he bothers to spend time with the engineering department to understand what they're doing. Right there he's better than the other American CEO's.

As far as how good an engineer he is, Tesla wouldn't be doing large die casting if he didn't understand it and appreciate the benefit. That goes for structural battery packs and 4680 batteries.

When Tesla opens a new plant or starts production of a new model, Elon lives on site. What other CEO would do that.

This was an interview with Elon one year before the Tesla roadster came out. It's unbelievable, he lays out everything Tesla is about to do. The model S, which he calls the model 2 and the model 3.

The roadster was based on ACPropulsion tzero, which copied the GM EV1 AC electric motor and used laptop batteries. That was the proof of concept for the roadster.

Elon invested in Tesla before they even started design on the roadster. It was his investment that funded the design.

Elon's engineering abilities are solid and so are his engineering management abilities. Elon was able to find people to execute his vision.
