the old man in Florida got off on shooting an unarmed man in a theater solely on the claim that he (the old man) felt threatened.
the judge actually denied his claim of self-defense under Florida's "stand your ground" law so I'm not clear on how exactly he got off. The old man could have made a different choice. He could have changed seats, he could have gotten the manager, etc.. but he chose to pull out his gun and shoot the guy dead and he got off.
We'll see what happens in this case. The circumstance are obviously not the same (these two were not strangers and it seems that might have had prior conflicts). Either way, Shane could have just apologized for parking in the guys space and said he would move the car right away. Instead he chose to escalate by yelling at him and telling him to go back in his house and then started walking toward him. Bad choice. Wrong choice. Even if this guy gets convicted of something Shane is still the one with a bullet in him.
